1) The Russians are bandits who invaded Ukraine, stole foreign land, killed countless Ukrainians and regularly murdered them. They have been the superior side in the war since the second half of 2023 and are making progress. Therefore, they have a better position in the peace negotiations.
2) The Americans under Joe Biden only supported Ukraine timidly and without a vision of the post-war peace order, by not providing weapons which would enable meaningful attacks on Russian territory. With this policy, the Americans under Biden caused Ukraine to weaken day by day. Biden's legacy is devastating.
3) The Americans under Donald Trump are convinced that Ukraine cannot win the war (i.e. drive the Russian bandits out of Crimea and Donbass). They therefore want to end the war and use their investments and the military deployment of the EU Europeans to secure the rest of Ukraine for the future. At best, this plan means that Ukraine will be robbed by Russia, but perhaps remain independent of it. It does not envisage anything more than that.
4) Ukraine, which has been militarily and economically unsustainable since spring 2022 without support from Western countries, must not give up its goal of gaining its territorial integrity and maintaining its independence from Russia. But it is too weak to achieve this goal. It wants to join NATO after the war. It cannot achieve this goal either because Germany, France, the Americans under Biden and the Americans under Trump are against it. Conclusion: Ukraine cannot achieve its legitimate goals.
5) The EU Europeans want to help Ukraine because they are increasingly afraid of Russia on the EU border. But they are divided on all the issues listed under 2) to 4): the question of their own militarily deployment in Ukraine, the question of ending the war, the question of Ukraine's NATO membership and, in general, the question of security guarantees for Ukraine after the war. The EU Europeans are also militarily weak. Overall, they are incapable of influencing either the course of the war or possible peace negotiations.
6) Conclusion: Trump and Putin decide how events will continue. The Ukrainians are now facing the truth while dying. The EU Europeans are afraid for their own security while cursing Trump.
